    **JOB SUMMARY**

    The Temp Cook reports to the Program Director and is responsible for all aspects of food service for the facility in compliance with contract requirements for the program.

    **ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**

    Prepare the meals at the facility for all residents.

    Purchase all kitchen supplies, menu ingredients and equipment necessary to prepare all meals listed on the menu for the entire week.

    Train and supervise residents cooking and/or working in the kitchen, who will prepare meals and sanitize the kitchen and supplies.

    Train and equip residents to prepare breakfasts and weekend meals.

    Train and equip weekend staff to supervise residents as they prepare breakfasts and weekend meals.

    Ensure that the program food service complies with all health and safety codes for commercial kitchens and Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) polices for residential food service.

    Purchase and maintain inventory of all household cleaning supplies, linens, and personal hygiene supplies.

    Maintain Material Safety Data Sheet Log for all chemicals used and stored in the facility.

    Think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.

    Will drive on Agency business.

    Comply with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety risks for staff, clients and others.

    Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee at Turning Point. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working. Employees also are expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences from scheduled hours are disruptive and must be avoided.

    **ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS**

    Must be at least 21 years old.

    Must possess at a minimum a high school diploma or a GED.

    Must have one (1) year experience in the efficient operation of a culinary area.

    Must possess and maintain a California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire.

    Ability to follow the menu in preparing the daily food listed.

    Ability to plan and prepare well-balanced meals.

    Experience in preparing quality and quantity food.

    Possess and maintain a CPR and First Aid certification within 6 weeks of hire.

    Ability to use the equipment necessary to complete the responsibilities of the job.

    Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms.

    Possess a valid drivers license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.

    Ability to pass a criminal background check.

    Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, general physical, and TB test.

    COVID19 vaccination required prior to employment.

    Must maintain good relationships with current, future and past employees, co-workers, vendors, third party administrators, and others with whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.
