    Job Description Job Description Descriptive SummaryThe job of an Environmental Safety Health Manager (ESH) is to ensure that an organization operates in a manner that is safe for the environment, as well as for employees and customers.

    This position requires a deep understanding of environmental regulations, and the ability to create and implement effective safety procedures and policies.

    Essential FunctionsDeveloping and implementing environmental health and safety policies and procedures to minimize risks to personnel, property, and the environment.

    Promote an improved EHS culture and acquiring cooperation and involvement from Leaders and employees who are concerned with challenging priorities.

    (Dealing with resistance - change and champion employee involvement).Conducting environmental health and safety audits and inspections and identifying potential risks and hazards.

    Identifying opportunities for improvement in environmental health and safety programs and creating action plans to address any deficiencies.
    Providing training to employees on environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
    Ensuring that the organization complies with all applicable environmental regulations and standards.
    Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate environmental health and safety risks in new projects and initiatives.
    Managing incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and creating effective corrective actions plans.
    Maintaining accurate records of environmental health and safety incidents and compliance activities.
    Reporting on environmental health and safety performance to senior management and making recommendations for improvement.

    Education & ExperienceRequiredBachelors degree in safety engineering, Environmental Science or related field requiredPreferredProfessional CSP, PE or CEP certification preferredSkills & Competencies7-10 years of experience in EHS related position in an industrial/construction setting, environmental safety experience preferred.

    Extensive knowledge and skill in development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs/activities and proceduresExperience with EHS Management Systems and EHS auditingKnowledgeable about OSHA general industry and constructionInterpersonal skills to build a culture of safety, influence others and be a safety advocate throughout the organization.

    High degree of proficiency in computer software applications with a detailed approach to policy & procedure documentationExcellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well within all levels of the organization.

    Ability to address large groups for presentations and training.
    Ability to multi-task, quickly adapt to change, and work with minimal direction.
    Ability to interpret regulations and apply the content to operations.
    Leader in change management and building a culture of safety through influence and employee engagement.
