    Position Description
    The Civil/Structural Engineer is expected to be able to perform routine engineering functions with little supervision. Work is reviewed by a senior level engineer for accomplishment of objectives.

    Essential Functions
    Assists in the preparation of Site Data Sheet

    Assists in the preparation of requisitions for inquiry in support of purchasing Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings, Structural Steel for supports, Pre-fabricated pipe supports, and subcontracts.

    Assists in the preparation of proposals for Geotechnical Investigation & Topographic Surveys.

    Prepares technical bid evaluations for Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings, Structural Steel for supports, Pre-fabricated pipe supports, and subcontracts in cooperation with Procurement Department.

    Prepares civil and structural calculations for the design of various civil/ structural elements pertaining to the project.
    Reviews plot plans and facilities for Civil/Structural requirements.
    Reviews vendor documents.

    Reviews the discipline scope of work to be executed to ensure it matches project specification and/or the proposal documents as appropriate.

    Accepts both short and extended term assignments to the site, client's office, etc. as may be requested by the Chief Civil/Structural Engineer.

    Qualifications
    Typically - 6 years of experience in engineering.
    Knowledge of computer systems in an engineering environment.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Education
    Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
    EIT Certification preferred

    Work Environment/Physical Demands
    Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
    Frequent sitting and operating a computer.
    Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or office materials.

    Physical demands requirements are at levels of those for sedentary work.
