Job DescriptionWe are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join our company as an Electrical Test Engineer.Our ideal candidate has at least a master's degree in engineering with a focus on electrical engineering, or a relevant field.
You also need superb problem-solving and communication skills.Job Responsibilities Test setup creation including instrumentation and electrical/mechanical assemblies Power module (IGBT + Diode) double pulse and short circuit testing Root cause analysis of power electronic components and systems Basic electrical wiring changes, electrical test fixture creation Compiling and organizing technical data and prepare reports on project assignments Designs electrical systems by developing and testing components Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs and applying knowledge of electricity and materials Confirms systems' and components' capabilities by designing testing methods Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements and researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components and by soliciting observations from operators Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods and testing finished products and system capabilities Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends Develop and continuously improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality Drive continuous improvement, lean, six sigma methodologies Evaluate production equipment, hardware, and tooling; makes recommendations for repairs or replacement Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures Maintains product database by writing computer programs and entering data Completes projects by training and guiding techniciansBackground & Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical, electronics, instrumentation mechanical, mechatronics, robotics, controls engineering.
Experience in using test equipment, e.g.oscilloscopes, function generators & data acquisition systems PLC operation and LabView experience (seen as beneficial) Proficient electrical and electronics knowledge Understanding of electrical and electronic diagrams, one-lines and schematics Familiarity with AC drives and power electronics (IGBT's, diodes, Mosfets), medium voltage knowledge is an asset Programming skills like Python, MATLAB, SQL is highly desired Knowledge on electrical safety standards Must be able to function well in a team or group environment.
