This position is 100 percent travel throughout the state of Alaska. All travel expenses are paid. Full benefits offered.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons as the prime contractor. This $1.8 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options.
The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required.
Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S.
territories.An average staff of with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Engineering Technician to join our team In this role you In this role you will get to be a part of an efficient team who are working on the National Airspace System.
What You'll Be Doing:
Assists with site preparation work for electronics equipment and systems.
Assists with site surveys preparation of survey reports.
Gathering and maintaining specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.
Assists with electronics installations, integration and testing pf various FAA systems.
Assists in installation of electrical power panels; conduit; cableways; control cables; duct banks; AC power panels; racks for various FAA systems.
Under general supervision, performs complex quality control inspection activities on assigned projects and/or functional areas to ensure that products or services provided are in accordance with customer and Parsons requirements.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
High school diploma is required.
Work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, etc.) is a must.
Lift at least 50 pounds is a must.
Climb towers, may be as high as 50 ft., is a must.
Basic Microsoft suite and Internet, and E-mail.
Must be able to meet customer security requirements (moderate to high risk). A background check by federal authorities will be performed.
Must be able to travel up to 100% within the State of Alaska.
Knowledge of Alaskan terrain.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
High school degree or advanced training from institutions such as junior college, military service, or trade school training.
1-3 years' experience with the engineering and/or construction fields.
Familiar with cloud-based databases, such as MS SharePoint.
Experience using CAD software.
Heavy equipment experience.
Climbing towers, may be as high as 50 ft.
Detailed technical reporting experience.
Knowledge of FAA airspace and systems.
