    Position Summary
    This position is responsible for professional work that involves a high-level of detail and administrative oversight of the approval processes related to Experiential Learning, Institutional Competency System and Approval Process. The online Institutional Competencies system includes multiple levels of approval and a workflow process. The person in this position is responsible for managing the users including, providing instruction and guidance on the use of the system. In addition, this position is responsible for the facilitation of the faculty governance approval process associated with the system. The position is also responsible for oversight of the development, maintenance, and distribution of a Comprehensive Learner Record. The employee is needed to perform the tasks associated with the position with a high-level of autonomy, independence, and discretion to ensure the effectiveness of any task or service within the area of assignment. As the primary point person for these approval processes, the employee manages the proposal review process and provides guidance to schools and colleges on proposal submissions. This position will ensure proposals are compliant with UGA, USG, and SACSCOC policies and procedures.

    Management of the Curriculum and Co-Curricular Approval Process for Experiential Learning Requirements
    • Facilitate the proposal process for curriculum and non-credit activities in the workflow system.
    • Work with the Experiential Learning (EL) office and Curriculum Faculty Governance team concerning proposal submission.
    • Review proposals for accuracy and compliance with UGA, USG, and SACSCOC policies and procedures.
    • Review evidence of the appropriate EL categories in proposal for compliance.
    • Provide support to the faculty and staff using the workflow system, including responding to phone calls and emails, managing access to the system, and delivering training in-person and online.
    • Work with Business Analyst and Application Development Unit (ADU), to develop and enhance functionality.
    • Work with Business Analyst and ADU to modify and improve the process.
    • Work with Business Analyst and ADU to develop and produce reports out of the system.
    • Work with DegreeWorks team to ensure the functionality provides desired results.
    • Work with Business Analyst, ADU, and EITS to ensure integration with Athena.
    • Work with Registrar Advisory Committees to receive input and feedback on the system.

    • Associate learning outcomes for the following requirements with courses and non-credit activities: General Education Core Areas I-V; Environmental Literacy; Environmental Awareness; Cultural Diversity.
    • Associate learning outcomes for UGA Competencies with courses and noncredit activities.
    • Ensure evidence of learning outcomes for courses and non-credit activities exists in the documentation.
    • Responsible for reviewing and editing proposals for accuracy and compliance with UGA, USG, and SACSCOC policies and procedures.
    • Facilitate processes with faculty and staff across campus.
    • Work with appropriate faculty governance committees concerning the process.
    • Work with Director of Assessment in the Office of Instruction concerning the process.
    • Work with DegreeWorks team to ensure the functionality provides desired results, including providing support for faculty and staff, responding to phone calls and emails, managing access to the system, and delivering training in person and online.
    • Work with Business Analyst and ADU to develop and enhance functionality of the process.

    Responsible for Comprehensive Learning Record (CLR) Approval Process
    • Integrate curriculum mapping of courses and non-credit activities requirements to a Comprehensive Learner Record.
    • Integrate the CLR with transcript delivery.
    • Enable the creation, ongoing maintenance, and long-term archiving of a CLR.
    • Incorporate Personal Profile and e-Portfolio records into the CLR.
    • Support networking capabilities and long-term availability of a CLR between students and third parties, -including employers and platforms such as LinkedIn.
    • Enable courses, non-credit activities, and requirements to be mapped to existing and/or customized competency taxonomies.
