    Pay

    This position is an hourly position at pay grade 102.

    Attendance

    Non-rotating 15-hour work week, Monday - Friday; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

    Overview


    The Group Leader assists with the development of the Summer Latchkey Program for children ranging in age from 5-13 years old.

    Group Leaders provide leadership and activities for children participating in the After-School Program to ensure a safe and caring environment that promotes positive child development.

    Responsibilities


    • Lead and ensure the safety of children ages 5 to 13 and address any concerns expressed by the children. Continuously redirect children to limit any possible disciplinary issues
    • Sign in children daily and ensure children are signed out by an authorized person. Write incident reports and discipline referrals as needed
    • Instruct and lead children in various recreational games and activities. Assist Senior Group Leader with weekly and monthly special events for children
    • Deliver daily deposits to financial institution as needed
    • Assist Senior Group Leader with preparing bank deposits and deliver daily reports to Lindale Recreation Center as needed
    • Ensure that there is constant communication with custodial and administrative staff at the school when issues arise
    • Communicate daily with parents and guardians while providing excellent customer service
    • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
    Qualifications


    • Requires a High School Diploma/GED
    • No prior experience required
    • Must obtain CPR and First Aid certifications before job assignment
    • Driver's license preferred

    Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
