    The Digital Workforce Enablement (DWE) organization is actively seeking to hire a Director of Engineering who will join the department's senior leadership team as the head of our Collaboration Engineering department. This leader will be responsible to oversee a department that is focused on the engineering and advancement of our collaboration suite of products and services inclusive of Exchange Online, SharePoint and OneDrive. In addition, this role will be responsible for the engineering and operations of our Authentication Services and Video Solutions products and services.

    Requirements

    • Set an ambitious and clear product vision in in conjunction with the Senior Manager, Product Owner for the Collaboration Engineering products and services.
    • Aid in the definition of departmental critical success factors in alignment with the Employee Enablement Portfolio as appropriate.
    • Manage total cost of ownership for related products and services while advocating for the retirement of technical debt.
    • Provide strategic leadership evaluating, selecting, and implementing new technologies to enhance the overarching employee digital experience.
    • Aligns teamwork toward the product vision and shared goals and links vision to coaching and feedback to managers and team members.
    • Keep pace with emerging technology and features relevant to the product, educating customers and stakeholders on the art of the possible.
    • Participants in organizational workforce management effectively managing resources consistent with departmental budgets.
    • Develop and maintains a comprehensive observability strategy for Collaboration Engineering products and services.
    • Establish and maintain manage departmental financial plans in alignment with organizational financial objectives.
    • Management responsibilities for 4 direct reports and approximately 30 indirect reports.
    Experience-
    • Advanced knowledge of end-user technologies and strategies as typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc.);Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience in business, engineering, technology and/or consulting; 5 years Supervisory or Management experience.
    • Strong influencing skills to be seen as the decision maker when interfacing with business, and willingness to dissent with both teams and business.
    • Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders through strong leadership skills.
    • Ability to coach and inspire both direct reports and matrixed teams.
    • Proven track record hiring and retaining top technical talent.
    • Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty in a fast-paced working environment.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
