    Description

    Overall responsibilities and duties:

    The main purpose of the Industrial Engineer is to ensure engineering changes are entered in SAP, communicated to all applicable personnel, implemented on time within PC&L, quality and production processes

    The main missions of the role are:

    • Attend several meetings regarding each platform and line of assemblies produced for the customer.
    • Plan and implement new products and/or changes to the manufacturing process
    • Provide manufacturing engineering support to assigned UAP
    • Provide support to Quality Department and UAP Quality Engineer as required
    • Review processes and procedures on an on-going basis for safety, quality, and production efficiency
    • Assist in other UAP support as assigned
    • Participate in Hoshin and Continuous Improvement events as assigned
    • Plan and implement new products and/or changes to the manufacturing process
    • Develop plans in accordance with customer requirements using value analysis, and other techniques including PFMEA and control plans
    • Lead continuous improvement efforts of the company through value analysis, maintaining up to date knowledge of manufacturing/tooling techniques
    • Develop and implement manufacturing documentation and other operator instructions
    • Coordinate customer, internal, and supplier released engineering change activities by plant processes
    • Function as the liaison between internal departments (Corporate, plant Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Logistics).
    • Function as the liaison for the plant between the Customer and Supplier, while maintaining company confidentiality.
    • Leads plant through weekly engineering change meetings.
    • Provide direction for build events, and functional trials.
    • Audits plants process and procedures to ensure compliance.
    • Work with Bill of Materials (BOMs), scheduling and material ordering planners to ensure smooth transitions.
    • Conduct BOM Audits personally where applicable.
    • Schedule, train and manage conducting of BOM audits by internal cross-functional teams.
    • Be able to make solid decisions for the plant regarding engineering changes.
    • Participate in 5 S, implement 5S improvements.
    • Participate in Hoshin and Continuous Improvement Events as assigned by management.
    • Participate in and promote the goals of the Ideas Improvement Program.
    • Stay informed of quality issues and opportunities as relates to position and or department.
    • Stay informed of environmental aspects, follow procedures and work to eliminate or reduce the FMEA ratings as relates to position and or department.
    • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecias Code of Ethics and Code of Management.
    • Complete all other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum education level: Bachelors degree (US/Canada) / Ingeneria (Mexico)

    Experience:

    • years engineering related experience in automotive environment
