    Description

    Cloud Chamber is looking for a veteran Lead Rendering Engineer to help bring our stylized game to life. You will be managing our team of Rendering Engineers and working in close collaboration with concept artists, Art Directors, and other engineers to push Unreal Engine 5 towards our combined vision. You will be modifying core shaders, developing new rendering technologies, and working to integrate third party solutions for rendering based challenges.     Job Details:

    We are looking for someone to lead and manage our growing team of Rendering Engineers.

    • Prioritize, plan, organize, engineer, and execute creative technical solutions based on concept art and art direction.
    • Design new tools and systems to achieve holistic artistic visions.
    • Find creative solutions to make use of offline third-party tools, like Houdini, and marshal their data into the runtime.
    • Effectively communicate and manage direct reports towards performant solutions.
    • Collaborate with development partners across disciplines to best deliver and execute to the project's creative vision.
    • Identify and implement best practices, workflows and pipelines that pushes the quality bar for your team.
    • Mentor and help fellow engineers grow their skills.
    • Undertake research and initiate information gathering prior to the commencement of new tasks to ensure all needs and technological considerations are effectively managed to meet defined goals.
    • Actively improve skill sets and abilities by keeping aware of industry trends and techniques, evaluating competitive products, and learning new software packages.
    • Direct others and provide constructive feedback to internal staff and external partners, based on project needs.

    Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
    • Minimum of 7 years industry or related experience.
    • Experience shipping multiple AAA Unreal Engine console and PC games.
    • Previous experience working in a lead role and as a graphics / rendering engineer.
    • Strong 3D Math skills.
    • Strong C/C++ experience.
    • Experience with modern GPUs on the latest generation of gaming platforms.
    • Good understanding and familiarity with Unreal Engine 4 or 5 from a graphic point of view.
    • Exposure to third-party tools like Houdini, Substance Painter, and Z-Brush in terms of how they can function in a graphics pipeline.
    • Ability to research, analyze and optimize code to meet performance requirements.
    • Ability to work independently and efficiently under reasonable deadlines.
    • Proven organizational and leadership skills and willing to take initiative to communicate, coordinate, and negotiate between different disciplines with kindness and respect.
    • Work ethic focused on dynamism and collaboration.
    • Analytical and strategic thinker with communication skills to express clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to embrace change for a fast-growing organization.

    This is a fully remote role that may be based anywhere in the United States. Below are the expected salary and wage ranges for applicants based in locations where the pay transparency law is in effect:

    Colorado: $140,000 and $230,000 per year
    California: $155,000 and $230,000 per year
    New York State (inclusive of New York City): $155,000 and $230,000 per year
    Washington: $140,000 and $230,000 per year

    Base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also receive 14 paid holidays per calendar year, are eligible to earn a minimum of 15 days of vacation leave per year (subject to proration based on start date during the calendar year) and will receive 10 sick days per calendar year. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, 4 including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
