    Job Summary:
    Vertex Solutions is rapidly expanding its business portfolio in DoD mixed reality (MR) aviation training industry.

    New programs and opportunities require us to expand our program manager staff, especially with Program Managers (PMs) with the drive and experience to also manage program capture activities.

    The Vertex


    PM


    will manage and oversee all day-to-day operations in support of DoD programs, with a focus on developing MR aircraft simulators and integrating them into aircrew training systems, particularly within Air Force Air Mobility Command (AMC).

    The
    PMwill also support capture of new contracts and may serve as the capture manager for programs that will become part of the PM's portfolio.

    The
    PMwill be the primary interface with the customer on program execution, deliverables, schedule, performance, and contract modifications.

    Essential Functions:

    Responsible for contract execution, performance, cost, and schedule.
    No cap bonus plan will be based on performance metrics
    Coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget. Inform management in a timely manner of variances from the plan.
    Develop and maintain an accurate risk tracking document with an associated mitigation plan.
    Work closely with functional managers to maintain timelines and estimates to complete for technical work products.
    Schedule/Organize/Attend progress meetings with Government stakeholders, site managers, and Vertex senior management.
    PMwill take appropriate actions when necessary to ensure program stay on Schedule, cost and within contracted Scope
    Plan, document, and manage assigned capture project efforts for AMC and aircrew training contracts.
    Coordinate with Business Development staff to assess customer issues, program requirements and competitive posture.
    Collaboratively develop capture strategy with the business development team and proposal manager, and company leadership team.
    Excellent written and oral communication skills
    Good analytical and problem-solving skills to assess needs and recommend solutions
    Ability to create products with extremely high attention to detail and accuracy
    Ability to interact with team members and stakeholders in a problem-solving, constructive manner
    Ability to successfully manage and meet multiple, simultaneous project deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    Supervisory Responsibility:
    This position will have multiple direct and indirect reports as required to meet contract requirements.

    Reasoning Ability:


    Possess the ability to solve complex practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and intellectual variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

    Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Travel:


    5% - 10% travel is anticipated for this position to support business development efforts and to attend and participate in trade shows.


    Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; Master's degree a plus
    Project Management Professional certification (strongly desired)
    8+ years of experience managing projects/programs within or for the DoD, aircrew systems contract management a plus
    Fundamental understanding of Accounting and Finance as related to Program Management
    Ability to independently interface with customers, key company partners, and other project stakeholders
    Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed project teams

    Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

    Background checks- criminal, civil, employment, and education required. Drug screening in compliance with drug-free workplace standards. Ability to obtain a federal government clearance when required for projects.
