- Safety must be prioritized before every task. Unsafe acts and conditions should be reported immediately to your supervisor.
- Respond promptly and complete facility work order requests in a timely manner. These requests may include changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, hanging boards, moving furniture, assembling shelves, performing minor electrical and plumbing work, repairing locks and doors, and various other miscellaneous requests as required.
- Maximize the lifespan and reliability of company buildings, mechanical systems, and equipment by performing necessary maintenance, groundskeeping, and operational procedures.
- Consistently maintain clean work areas inside and outside facilities. Daily empty trash from offices, breakrooms, and bathrooms. Assist Operations with work area cleaning.
- Proactively inspect Praters, Inc. facilities for grounds and building maintenance needs and repairs.
- Auto-scrub the floors daily, and after each portable floor is removed from a bay, as well as as needed throughout the Peerless Mill facility.
- Operate forklift trucks safely at moderate speeds and with full awareness of your surroundings. Make sure to be cautious of any obstacles or people in the vicinity.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations by overseeing and inspecting work performed by outside contractors.
- Maintain lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and other building-related supplies and tools inventory.
- If required, assist the Technician responsible for Equipment Maintenance.
- Collaborate with the operations team to procure parts for electrical or specialized services.
- Communicate unresolvable issues to the Facilities Manager.
- Participate in the company or external educational opportunities offered to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of members of the maintenance department.
- Weekend work and overtime may be required.
- Support Praters, Inc.'s missions and goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proven facility maintenance experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift 50 lbs. or more, climb a ladder, bend, twist, crawl, and jump
- Ability to work in tight spaces and outdoors
- Ability to read blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
- Must be able to operate a gas-powered forklift
- Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding
- Basic working knowledge of building control and automation systems
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with employees, vendors, and visitors
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Must have a valid driver's license and Clean MVR
- Must have a DOT Medical Card or the ability to obtain a medical card
- Must be able to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test and background screening.

JOB SUMMARY:
As a Facility Maintenance Technician, you will report directly to the Facilities Manager and work under general supervision. Your main responsibility will be to conduct general preventative maintenance and corrective repairs of the buildings, systems, and grounds at each Praters, Inc. campus located in Rossville, GA. You will also be required to assist in monitoring building system operations and performance and may need to utilize your skills in plumbing, electrical work, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.
