JOB SUMMARY
The Small Business Specialist plays a key role in supporting our mission by assisting Small Business Consultants with client management, compliance, outreach, and coordination of business education programs. This full-time, team-oriented role supports the implementation of Prospera's proven economic development model to empower underserved Hispanic entrepreneurs and grow our regional presence.
This position offers excellent exposure and growth opportunities through collaboration with clients, funders, volunteers, community partners, local government, and vendors.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Client & Consultant Support
- Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with client meetings and follow-up activities aligned with Entrepreneurial Development Plans (EDPs).
- Support analysis of client business needs and contribute to solution development.
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for client and service provider meetings.
- Maintain accurate and timely data entry in CRM systems.
- Assist with regional compliance tracking and reporting requirements.
- Represent Prospera at community and networking events as needed.
Educational Program Coordination
In partnership with Small Business Consultants:
- Coordinate and implement educational programs and seminars.
- Manage venue reservations and event logistics.
- Prepare training materials and room setup.
- Conduct and document speaker evaluations.
- Manage post-seminar communications with participants and stakeholders.
- Serve as regional representative on the Education Committee (as assigned).
Regional Operations & Special Projects
- Collaborate with Marketing on regional communications and social media content.
- Support internship program coordination and administrative needs.
- Assist in fostering a culture of philanthropy within the region.
- Complete special projects as assigned by the Regional Vice President.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Currently pursuing or holding a degree in business, public administration, marketing, finance, or a related field
- Experience in a client service or administrative support role preferred
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Bilingual: fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written) required
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Other Requirements:
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Must pass pre-employment background and verification checks
