    Job Summary

    Service of food and/or beverage to include the order-taking and delivery of any food and/or beverage items. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction.

    Essential Job Functions

    This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

  • Ensure all details are followed according to supervisors instructions
  • Provide guests with the finest quality of service at all times in a warm and friendly manner
  • Ensure the work area is maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition
  • Must be able to pass Responsible Beverage Service Training per state of Missouri requirements
  • Have a thorough knowledge of restaurant food and beverage preparation
  • Check guests identification to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages and be able to refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age
  • Observe behavior of guests who are consuming alcoholic beverages, count number of drinks served, if needed notify supervisor or manager for assistance in cutting off the guest
  • Ensure service area is cleared and thoroughly cleaned at the conclusion of the recent meal period; all equipment must be stored in the designated area
  • Maintain constant presence in room; greet guests upon arrival and thank them for coming upon their departure
  • Communicate guest compliments/complaints to management
  • Notify supervisor of any broken or damaged equipment
  • Maintain Driftwood and Margaritaville & restaurant standards of food, beverage, and quality guest service
  • Attend all required meetings
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors
  • Able to scrupulously follow all Driftwood and Margaritaville Lake Resort policies and procedures
  • Can complete projects and assignments thoroughly, professionally, and with care
  • Can adjust to high-pressure conditions and is open to change
  • Consistently maintains positive demeanor
  • Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development
  • Adheres to Driftwood and Margaritaville Lake Resort uniform, grooming and appearance standards
  • Conducts him\herself professionally at all times; sets standards for all associates
  • Understands and communicates the Driftwood Mission
  • Able to express ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively, and professionally

  • Conveys company information, decision, or problems to appropriate parties on a timely basis

  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions
  • Must have a knowledge applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations
  • Must have excellent mathematical and computer skills
  • High school education preferred; relevant training and experience required
  • Ability to timely obtain any required vaccinations, licenses or certificates
  • CPR training and first aid training preferred
  • Additional language ability preferred
  • Physical Demands

  • Minimum lifting/pulling of 40 pounds
  • Being on feet for an entire shift, possibly 8 hours or more
  • Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity
  • Hearing, writing, typing
  • Age Requirements

    Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
