Temp Casual - Grants & Manuscript Specialist
Memory Keepers Medical Discovery Team (MK-MDT) conducts research on dementia and its associated risks and co-morbidities in partnership with Indigenous and rural communities. Our modern facilities have been thoughtfully constructed to foster a team science approach to research and well-being. The MK-MDT investigators and staff work collaboratively with academic and community research partners in the United States and Canada using a community-based participatory research framework. This position will require excellent time management skills.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Grants & Manuscript Specialist will:
* Grant Writing, and Other Scholarly Activities (95% effort)
o Assist PI in identification of internal and external grant opportunities.
o Write and format peer-reviewed manuscripts for publication in collaboration with the PI.
o Write and format NIH and other external grant applications in collaboration with the PI.
o Maintain grants database.
o Engage in other administrative duties as needed.
* Public Engagement and Communications (5% effort)
o Assist with communications and collaborations with multiple partners and stakeholders.
Time commitment: 10-15 hours/week during each year

Qualifications
Qualifications
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
Required qualifications:
* BA/BS plus at lest two years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal at least six years
* Knowledge of biomedical ethics and the responsible conduct of research.
* Knowledge of HIPAA and data privacy rules for the protection of human subjects.
* Experience writing NIH sponsored grants.
* Experience writing and formatting peer-reviewed manuscripts.
Preferred qualifications:
* Master's degree or Ph.D. in health sciences, or similar discipline.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant management.
* Experience writing foundation grants.
* Experience with grant budget forms and narratives.
* Experience conducting effective collaboration and communication with multiple partners and stakeholders.
* Knowledge of federal regulations and policies and procedures for studies submitted to the University Institutional Review Board, including projects that include cooperative research projects that may include a memorandum of understanding and/or a data sharing agreement.
* Knowledge or experience of rural and/or Indigenous health/health equity issues.
* Knowledge of the health of older adults and/or age-related neurological conditions.
