    The Company:
    Our client is a global aerospace & defense contractor in the Kansa City, KS area. They are seeking a skilled Components Engineer to join theirr team.

    The Components Engineer will be responsible for managing the library of electronic components used in designs and ensuring that the components meet the requirements for functionality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

    The ideal candidate will have experience with OrCAD EDM and be able to work independently and as part of a team.


    The Opportunity:

    • Manage and maintain the electronic components library
    • Ensure that components meet the requirements for functionality, reliability, and costeffectiveness
    • Find an alternate component/new component for existing/new product design based on cost and availability, while working closely with product line Engineers, QA and Purchasing departments.
    • Write ECR as needed to process PCNs received from suppliers and to add/block components to the existing component database.
    • Perform component level tests to qualify new components, preparing reports and adding to the part database per internal component qualification procedures.
    • Work with the design team to select appropriate components for new designs
    • Collaborate with suppliers to source new components and negotiate pricing
    • Create and maintain documentation related to components, including datasheets and specifications
    • Develop and maintain relationships with component manufacturers and suppliers
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to components during the design process

    What we are seeking:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
    • 3+ years of experience in components engineering
    • Experience with OrCAD EDM
    • Strong knowledge of electronic components and their properties
    • Familiarity with CAD tools and design processes
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
    • Due to ITAR requirements, all candidates must be US Citizens or US Permanent Residents (ie Green Card)
