    Mission Contribution: The Store Key Holder assists the Store Manager with day-to-day store operations. Ensuring efficient and cost-effective operation and stewardship of the Goodwill store to maximize profitability and increase training opportunities.

    Organizational Design: The Store Key Holder is a full-time, hourly management position. The Key Holder assists the Store Manager with daily store operations and develops store team members, clients, and volunteers.

    Essential Functions:

    • Perform assigned duties and management responsibilities in partnership with the Store Manager within our Guiding Principles:
    • Provide best-in-class customer service
    • Maintain clean, organized, and safe facilities
    • Maintain stores with fresh inventory
    • Use data analytics to drive performance
    • Input data into a centralized spreadsheet and/or data collection system.
    • Ability to use a computer-based register system.
    • Perform basic financial calculations for cash handling, register balancing, store finance reporting, and safe management.
    • Perform store audits and utilize results to direct needed changes.
    • Manage product logistics including but not limited to: stemming, hanging, pricing, sorting, stocking, pulling, and using fork trucks and/or pallet jacks.
    • Train, supervise, and develop team members within Goodwill policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
    • Assist the Store Manager and Store Assistant Manager in day-to-day operations.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Train as a backup for scheduling labor and preparing timecards.
    • Report transportation and maintenance needs to the Store Manager.
    • Ensure proper branding, image, and security of the store according to agency policies and procedures.
    • Order and maintain supplies in a secure manner in accordance with established budget and agency practices.
    • Ensure a positive customer and donor experience.
    • Properly handle and process incoming donations in and out of the store in accordance with Goodwill policies and procedures.
    • Hold store meetings and communicate agency directives to all team members.
    • Rotate apparel and hard goods in a timely manner and in accordance with Goodwill's policies and procedures.
    • Complete statistical counts (i.e., donor counts, apparel hung, etc.) in an accurate and timely manner. Complete register pulls, readings, cash reports, daily activity reports, transmittal of reports, and daily deposits in accordance with Goodwill's policies and procedures.
    • Stay knowledgeable about product, industry trends, and competitive pricing through comparative shopping of competitors.
    • Necessary janitorial work.
    • Multi-task, make quick decisions, and work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
    • Punctual and dependable attendance.
    • Participate in Goodwill events and activities outside of routine duties as assigned.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Read, write, and communicate in English with good communication skills and ability to communicate with the public and department staff.
    • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation for travel between Goodwill sites and Goodwill auxiliaries.
    • Pass skills and knowledge assessment testing.
    • Pass drug test and criminal background check.

    Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

    The physical demands/work environment conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to assist individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Physical requirements include twisting, bending, squatting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling. The employee must lift up to 40 pounds and team lift or use equipment to aid in lifting and moving items over 40 pounds.

    The working environment is indoors with occasional exposure to outside temperatures and occupational allergens, including dust, animal hair and dander, perfumes, and mold. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
