    JOB DESCRIPTION:


    The Marketing Manager reports to the Senior Director of Communications and Engagement and is responsible for supporting the Advancement Team in developing and implementing expert strategies and communications that result in the increased awareness and growing the positive impact of United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona (UWTSA).

    A key role of this is position is to design and execute effective social media promotional materials, newsletters, advertising, and collateral.

    In addition, the Marketing Manager will assist in implementing and tracking marketing and advertising strategies, work with staff to write and develop effective communications and promotional materials, execute digital and social marketing initiatives, support the Community Engagement Director with successful and intentional events that enhance the local brand and with helping create effective campaign communications that raise funds and awareness within the Advancement department.

    This is a full-time, non-exempt position for a mission-driven, motivated, creative, entrepreneurial individual with an elevated level of initiative, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

    With an office in Tucson, this position requires travel throughout Pima County.

    Wage Range:
    $50,000 - $55,000


    Responsibilities:

    Marketing Materials and Strategies:
    Execute brand communication strategies that reflect the vision of UWTSA that result in integrated marketing executions and multi-channel communications.
    Successfully use analytics, market research, communication, advertising, public relations, and digital marketing to generate profitable leads and donations.
    Create social media content materials and support the Advancement Department and organization with written and graphic design needs.

    Work with the Communications Team to strategize and develop marketing plans and materials for upcoming events and campaigns throughout the organization.

    Ensure the appropriate use of the United Way logo and brand identification and other trademarked/copyrighted materials, confirming consistent, appropriate usage throughout the organization on all materials.

    Support Marketing Director in tracking marketing KPIs including Conversion Rate, Number of Qualified Leads, Cost of Donor Acquisition, Number of Press Mentions, Inbound Links, Social Traffic and Social Shares.

    Working with Marketing & Communications Director, manage quality control of all marketing and collateral materials, such as social media content, blog posts, video production, promotional materials, etc.

    Work as a liaison between the communications team, advancement team and community development teams to collect news and stories from UWTSA's programs for internal and external use.

    Assist Communications Team in promoting news, writing press releases and article pitches to all media.
    Assist in managing public responses and reputation.
    Copy writing and editing.
    Photography and Graphic Design experience a plus.

    Social Media Management:
    Managing social media accounts on various platforms.
    Developing engaging daily content including Reels, Stories and Posts.
    Grow our social media following through targeted engagement, content and advertising.
    Developing, guiding and monitoring UWTSA presence across multiple social media platforms.
    Tracking the results of social media strategies using analytics.

    Newsletter and Blog Management:
    Writing community stories, articles, blogs for internal and external use.
    Work with Community Development, Advancement Department and The Operations Team to collect and write stories and narratives.
    Optimizing content for search engines (SEO) and lead generation.
    Write newsletters including our weekly and monthly informational emails along with different departmental specific newsletters.
    Identify target audience and grow our email list and work on list segmentation.
    Upgrade our email templates using graphics, personalization and advanced features.
    Proofread emails for clarity, grammar and spelling.

    Donor/Targeted Audience Relations:
    Execute strategy to support growth of annual endowment fund to $25M by 2024.
    Work with Advancement Team to develop marketing solutions and materials that drive fundraising and increase resources under management.
    Work with Communications Team and Resource Development to create social media & email strategies for a variety of campaigns.
    Cultivate targeted communications to donors and donor segments.

    Events, Promotions and Sponsorships:
    Work with Community Engagement Team on coordinating with volunteers, staff, and vendors in planning and executing events within budget.
    Work with Advancement Team in creating event promotion and materials, working with all departments.

    • Assist in fulfilling sponsorship benefits.
    Event set up and breakdown as needed.

    Administrative Functions:


    Perform duties in accordance with United Way policies and procedures such as attending staff meetings and conferences, completing accurate and timely timesheets and expense reports.

    Ability to manage horizontal priorities in a fast-paced environment, lead project planning, organization, monitoring and implementation, and motivate departmental teams toward project objectives.

    Submit budgets as appropriate.

    Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

    Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, public relations, journalism or related field and one year of experience or the equivalent combination of education/experience.

    Experience developing and managing social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok, Hootsuite experience a plus.

    Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication skills, including clear, concise, and accurate written documents, grammar, spelling, and election/organization of appropriate presentation method/vehicle.

    Ability to cultivate and write compelling stories and other content.
    Enjoys creative thinking and brainstorming.
    Ability to update and learn different website platforms.
    Familiarity with current programs beneficial to marketing including Adobe Creative Cloud Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc. is a plus

    Demonstrated customer service, problem solving, time management, research, information management, and higher-level organizational skills.

    Demonstrated skills using Windows-based software, including Internet browsers, e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and graphics software, to generate meaningful and comprehensive documents, materials and presentations.

    Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule and adjust it as required by changing activities. Ability to travel to work in a variety of locations throughout the metropolitan Tucson area.

    Must possess a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, daily access to reliable vehicle and able to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
