    Analytical Systems Maintenance Supervisor - Hillsboro, OR

    Job Overview:

    The Analytical Systems Supervisor will calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair atmospheric gas analytical systems at Client Inc. electronics facilities as well as supervise and coordinate resources to perform the same scope. This position will manage direct reports and report to the Associate Director of Operations in Hillsboro OR.

    The position requires a combination of office work and fieldwork. Some afterhours work will be required. Carrying a cell phone and availability to plant personnel for off hours assistance is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed to develop working relationships with plants operations team. Both ad hoc and preplanned travel to plants (mainly in the Portland Metropolitan Area) will be required for this role.

    Analytical system equipment include but are not limited to analyzers, sample manifolds, sample pumps, gas cyClientrs, regulators, valves, tubing, purifiers, control systems, dilution systems, and analyzer cabinets.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Understand and adhere to company safety work policies and operating practices. Report safety incidents and near misses.

    Schedule and direct daily activities of reporting personnel. Coordinate activities with internal and external stakeholders.

    Set team objectives and deliver results. Maintain team focus on quality compliance, customer service, reliability and details.

    Assist, lead, and track the training of employees on company policy, relevant equipment, and relevant procedures.

    Manage employee performance by setting goals and expectations. Provide guidance and feedback on improvement and development.

    Lead, or influence, employment decisions. Rate employee performance and endorse employee raises/rewards.

    Perform systematic calibrations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical systems.

    Be primary contact for special maintenance, projects, or requests related to facility analytical equipment.

    Work with quality and reliability teams to establish and maintain operating and maintenance procedures and preventative maintenance schedules for electronics-specific analytical and purification systems.

    Track and maintain availability/reliability of analyzers.

    Read, interpret, and maintain (as needed) facility documentation such as P&IDs, schematic wiring diagrams, QA plans, and procedures in compliance with change management policies.

    Ensure there are zero lapsed/overdue facility analyzer calibrations, in compliance with established procedures and quality assurance protocol.

    Escalate, as required, issues and failures.

    Assist in commissioning and start-up of new analytical equipment.

    Identify and assist in managing spare parts and replacement components of facility analytical system equipment.

    Oversee management of 3rd-party analytical system contractors.

    Make recommendations to improve safety, profit, maintenance program and/or work processes.

    Maintain work area housekeeping and organization.

    Qualifications:

    3-5 years of leadership experience in a related sector.

    Experience in mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, FTIR, and process analyzers, ideally in an industrial setting.

    Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience, is preferred.

    Experience with ultra-high purity gas purification systems is preferred.

    Basic electrical and instrumental aptitude is desired.

    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both orally and written) with an ability to coordinate multiple levels of the internal organization, suppliers, and customers.

    Self-starter, capable of working independently.

    Ability to write and interpret technical procedures and instructions.

    Excellent organizational skills.

    Ability to work on multiple projects during a given time frame.

    Ability to travel up to 10% within the U.S. and provide after business hours support as needed.

    Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
