- Maintains a safe and clean laboratory by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Run quality control samples to verify accurate results on equipment.
- Perform regular maintenance and upkeep of laboratory equipment.
- Prepare and document specimens for external laboratories.
- Provide an environment to furnish high quality, accurate diagnostic laboratory results
- Run necessary lab requests in a timely precise manner
- Record appropriate results in patient 's written and electronic files.
- Maintain accurate records on Quality Control, billing and send-out laboratory samples.
- Compassionately, calmly and gently approaches and handles patients.
- Approaches and handles patients according to safety protocols and core values.
- Uses practice management software to maintain client and patient records according to hospital protocol.
- Implement appropriate animal husbandry skills to decrease disease spread, injury and stress to patients.
- Experience in specialty medicine preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
- Current WA state veterinary technician license preferred, but not required
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
- Hourly pay range- $ $35.00 depending on experience and credentials
