    Description

    Title: Junior Network Administrator

    Location: Union, NJ

    Job type: Contract to hire (1 year contract to hire)

    Job Description

    • Monitor, configure, troubleshoot, upgrade, and install various network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points (WAP), and other associated equipment.
    • Document and update network physical layouts, logical connectivity, and device configurations with Microsoft Visio or equivalent application.
    • Managing all network back-up and restore activities.
    • Creating and reviewing security and traffic reports with management to adjust network and firewall policies.
    • Working with vendors and carriers to monitor and resolve carrier related issues.
    • Working with the help desk and end users to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
    • Working with end users and providing end user help desk support on an as needed basis.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP and other protocols
    • Working knowledge of routing and routing protocols
    • CCNA certified or 1-2 years of experiencing configuring and deploying Cisco switches
    • Experience with building and creating firewall policies.
    • Experience with Visio and Network diagrams
    • A security focused mentality.
    • Self-starter - Takes initiative every day.
    • Adaptability - The ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Positive Interactions - Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and demonstrates team building skills.
    • Customer Focus - Demonstrates interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and a passion to give excellent customer service.
    • Not phone reluctant – Picking up and assisting whenever possible.
    • Attention to Detail - Monitors and checks work or information and plans; organizes time and resources efficiently.

    • Multi-Tasking – Ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines and troubleshooting all at the same time.
    • Team Player – Ability to work with other members of IT or other departments to complete tasks and projects in a timely manner.

    A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum hourly rate on W2 for this position is $35 with limited benefits.
