Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our Maintenance Team at Iowa Premium, a National Beef Company in Tama, Iowa. This full-time position offers competitive pay and benefits, safe and stable work, and a caring and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, repairing, servicing, and maintaining boiler and industrial refrigeration (B&E) equipment and systems. This includes compressors, condensers, blast freezers, ammonia pumps, evaporators, and all associated valves, piping, and instrumentation. Additional duties may include performing periodic testing of ammonia detection systems, monitoring and repairing hot water heaters, water filters, and reservoirs, as well as electrical control panels.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess a proven work history in Boiler and industrial refrigeration (B&E) in the beef industry, strong knowledge in RCM dealing with PMs, PDMs, and specialty training related to RCM process, and mechanical skills and understanding of basic machine functions. They must also have the ability to use common tools, basic computer skills, willingness to work and be on time when scheduled, and a strong work ethic and eye for detail. Physical requirements include climbing occasionally, stooping occasionally, crouching occasionally, standing for 8 or more hours per day, talking, hearing, walking frequently, pushing frequently, pulling frequently, grasping frequently, repetitive motions frequently, lifting 0-100#, and exposure to hot and cold environments.
