POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
The Echocardiology Tech performs optimal quality echocardiographic studies on adult and pediatric patients with known and or suspected cardiac anomalies. These studies include but are not limited to the following modalities: M-mode, 2-Dimensional Echocardiography, 3-Dimensional Echocardiography strain, Color Doppler, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Exercise Stress Echocardiography, and Pharmacological Stress Echocardiography and Myocardial Contrast Echocardiography, stress test, holter and event recorder application if required. Limited transthoracic echo (TTE) for TAVR in Hybrid room.
Provides related clerical responsibilities necessary for physician interpretaion and department record keeping. Provides competent and proficient technical skills in the performance of STAT and routine echocardiology procedures implementing procedural standards and protocols. Provides patient care specific to procedural requirements and patient's needs (under the supervision of the lab's Medical Director and at the direction of the Management Team of Non-Invasive Cardiology) within established departmental protocols. Maintains an organized, safe and efficient work inviroment. Participates in the department QA program/accreditaion process. Provides training assistance to new empolyees as well as participates in maintaining professional growth, self-development objectives and skill enhancement. Must be versatile in ability to perform cross-training in additional cardiology procedures.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
of Registry exam by CCI or ARDMS must be acquired within 1-year of hire.
