- Correlates clinical history with the test performed.
- Transfers and positions patients.
- Accurately completes patient assessment forms.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Works directly with patients, staff, surgeons, and radiologist to ensure the best quality patient care.
- Responsible for machine and room cleanup after procedures.
- Participates in mammography QI/QA activities in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Participates in continuity of patient care as indicated by the interpreting radiologist, including but not limited to coordinating followup exams and processing of appointment reminder and result letters.
- Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination; documents any deviation.
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
- Assists director with development and implementation of policies and protocols to assure compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Performs radiographic and other Imaging procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and procedures within standard time frames.
- Maintains equipment in good operating condition and operates equipment according to department and manufacturer's recommendations.
- Transfers and positions patients.
- Provides proper radiation protection as prescribed by safety standards to themselves, patients, visitors, and other personnel.
- Provides radiologist with pertinent patient and exam information. Assists Radiologist with exams, invasive procedures, and administering contrast material.
- Maintains adequate records. Assists with patient record keeping.
- Maintains an orderly and clean work area. Secures and maintains supplies.
- May be required to participate in an oncall and rotation.
- Assists in the use of a variety of equipment and procedures. Responsible to see that all equipment is working as specified, that equipment is serviced routinely, and kept up to date with safety standards. Reports equipment malfunctions, abnormal / unsafe conditions to supervisor promptly.
- May be required to assist in the development of new procedures, technical factors, film selection, and instruct ancillary personnel.

- Maintains familiarity with and follows all department and hospital policies and procedures, safety program, emergency preparedness, Infection Control, etc.
- Flexible in daily work assignments/modalities. Willingly accepts changes in assignments and scheduled hours.

- Adheres to Inland Hospital Standards of Behavior.
- Participates in imaging records duties, including but not limited to CD burning, transmission of images with the PACS systems, patient checkin, and completing records releases.
- Educates the patient about the procedure, providing explanations to patient's questions as needed.
- Assures that a Licensed Practitioner has ordered the exam via confirmation of written order or verbal order. Seeks clarification of unclear orders from physician or supervisor. Documents order verification.
- Uses supplies and equipment conscientiously, reducing waste and damage.

Summary:
Under the supervision of the director of medical imaging and the chief radiologist, the Mammography Technologist performs radiographic examinations of breast anatomy as requested by the clinician.
The Mammography Technologist may also be required to perform other imaging examinations for which they are qualified such as radiologic examinations, CT scans, fluoroscopy, pain management, bone density, etc.
The technologist is expected to perform a variety of procedures in accordance with performance standards established for the job. This position may require on call, weekend, and holiday assignments.Responsibilities:
