    Research Lab Technician I - Hematology

    We are looking for a dedicated Research Lab Technician to join our team and focus on basic and translational research in plasma cell biology and oncology. Our ongoing projects revolve around studying the molecular mechanisms involved in multiple myeloma development and exploring new therapies to target protein homeostasis in myeloma and amyloidosis.

    Job Summary:

    The Research Lab Technician I will work under general supervision, handling a variety of routine and non-routine experiments at a professional level. The role involves collaborating with the research team, contributing to protocol design, performing experiments, analyzing data using statistical techniques, and maintaining documentation.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform moderate to complex experiments, including work with mouse models
    • Conduct biochemistry and molecular/cellular biology techniques
    • Maintain accurate documentation of experiments
    • Analyze data using advanced statistical techniques
    • Culture human cell lines and monitor viability
    • Coordinate tests and procedures
    • Assist in literature searches and preparation of publications
    • Establish and modify research techniques
    • Manage lab expenditures and supplies
    • Maintain animal and biosafety protocols
    • Coordinate lab activities and documentation
    • Monitor lab equipment calibrations and repairs
    • Ensure organization and cleanliness of lab spaces
    • Communicate regularly with the Principal Investigator
    • Perform any other assigned duties

    Working Conditions:

    • Laboratory environment; occasionally works with hazardous substances
    • Must be able to lift 25 lbs and work well both independently and in a team setting
    • Willingness to work with mouse models in an animal facility

    Qualifications:

    • BS/BA in biological/physical science
    • New graduate with relevant coursework or projects

    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication abilities
    • Effective task structuring and prioritization
    • Problem-solving skills and data analysis proficiency
    • Demonstrated ability in statistical data analysis and presentation
