Job Title: Mechanical Drafter

Location: Decatur, GA

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: Our client manufacturers equipment and they are looking for a Junior Drafter to work in their engineering team, helping to draft mechanical prints, redesign prints, detail prints, update drawings, organize our product folders and PDM system. This person, ideally has experience using Solidworks but other CAD software can suffice. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with 1-3 years of experience who are skilled in 3D modeling and have a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will be instrumental in transforming initial rough product designs into working documents using SolidWorks.

Responsibilities:

• Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software, specifically SolidWorks.
• Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineers and architects.
• Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products.
• Assist in researching and drafting blueprints, engineering plans, and graphics.
• Develop drawings and layouts from sketches and concepts.
• Accurately document design work and report to senior designers or engineers.
• Coordinate with other colleagues regarding complex diagrams and resolve design issues.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Mechanical Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field, or a CAD certification.
• 0-3 years of experience in mechanical drafting.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Understanding of metal fabrication processes and mechanical parts assembly.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
