Production Manager, Float Process-Double Line - Iowa Park, United States - Vitro

Description

Vitro, North America's largest manufacturer of architectural and automotive glass is currently seeking a Production Manager for their Float (Tank) Department at its Wichita Falls, TX location.

This position is to provide the necessary management and technical support to the float operation in order to attain optimum glass quality, maximize speeds and yields, produce at the lowest possible costs and develop the operational standards to maximum efficiency to a two float line operation.

Responsibilities

Manages the Tank operations
Assures high level of commitment to safety, housekeeping, environmental, health, and security concerns. Establishes policy to assure top priority for these concerns.
Assures the goals of the organization and goals of the individual employees are in mutual support.
Assures growth and training of individuals throughout the organization.
Must work closely with the Wareroom (Cutting operation) to direct and facilitate optimum production schedules

Must work with QC to optimize current quality and to provide real time decision making about products when quality is marginal.

Qualifications

B.S. Degree in Engineering or applicable degree is required
5+ Years of Experience working as a leader in a Tank department of a glass manufacturing company
6+ Years of Leadership Experience is required
Exhibited leadership and administrative ability
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to supervise, train and develop all direct reports
Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
Ability to motivate and develop creativity within a team
Initiates changes which lead to general improvement of operations.
Expertise in computer systems, including Microsoft and data entry systems
