Position Title: Executive Director of Peer Run Drop In Center

Designed By: MHCAN's Board of Directors

Job Purpose: As the Executive Director, you'll oversee MHCAN's program, staff, facility, and finances.

Main Responsibilities:

Plan and coordinate consumer involvement programs
Supervise Medi-Cal application tracking
Provide health-related referrals and support
Manage personnel, finances, and facilities
Develop donor relationships and write grant proposals
Act as a liaison with funding organizations
Connect with peer organizations nationwide
Raise awareness for mental health advocacy

Duties Include:

Prepare and manage budgets
Handle accounts and payroll
Provide fiscal oversight and maintain records
Manage human resources
Organize fundraising activities
Ensure compliance with contracts and deadlines
Maintain facility and attendance records
Advocate for mental health policy changes
Supervise and develop peer counselors

Qualifications:

3+ years of mental health consumer experience
Supervisory or leadership experience
Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
Knowledge of consumer-operated service programs
Experience in fund development and grant writing
Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years working with mental health populations
Strong financial and accounting knowledge
Proficiency in QuickBooks and human resources practices
Commitment to diversity in mental health services
Valid California driver's license

Compensation:

$77,000 + medical and dental benefits. Vacation time increases with tenure.
