    • Westfield, INPosition TypeFull TimeEducation LevelHigh SchoolTravel PercentageNoneJob ShiftDayDescriptionPOSITION PURPOSEThe Material Handler performs various material movement & manufacturing functions to ensure product orders are accurately fulfilled.
    This position moves, stores, fills requests for material movement, loads & unloads freight, etc. of products efficiently and safely according to the production schedule.

    POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform in a satisfactory manner the functions/responsibilities listed below.

    Essential FunctionsDemonstrated proficiency on specialized material handling equipmentMake material movements based on orders according to work ticket instructions.
    Unload, store, move, adjust, etc. any and all raw materials according to instructions.
    Track all material movements with current technology for accurate reporting & inventory management.
    Store, move, adjust, etc. any and all in-process materials and goods according to instructions.
    Appropriately package and seal products.
    Store, move, adjust, etc. and load any and all finished goods, packaged products, and materials onto delivery trucks and or freight trucks.
    Diligently maintain material handling equipment according to Preventive Maintenance Program.
    Start up, operate, and shut down processing equipment and machinery.
    Maintain a clean and organized work station.
    SECONDARY FUNCTIONSAssist MFG Supervisor in tracking and maintaining inventory.
    Notify the Department Team Leader of problems with equipment, devices, or products.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCETo perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
    High school diploma or GED is required.
    Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.

    Demonstrated proficiency and abilities with specialized material handling equipment and packages up to 26' in length (articulating arm forklift).QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    Ability to operate heavy machinery, basic hand tools, and power tools.

    Demonstrated proficiency and abilities with specialized material handling equipment and packages up to 26' in length (articulating arm forklift).Knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanics, and basic quality principles.

    Ability to work as part of a team.

    Demonstrated proficiency and abilities with specialized material handling equipment and packages up to 26' in length (articulating arm forklift).Ability to lift 100 pounds and push or pull 150 pounds; an ability to use hands to touch, handle, or feel.

    Ability to see, including the use of color perception and peripheral vision; an ability to hear and speak clearly.
    Ability to read reports, orders, and other documentation.
