Job Description

Operates and manages all aspects of an early education center, including human resources, customer relations, marketing, educational programs, financial responsibility, and physical facility. Serves as the go-to person for all Pre-School and Early Education classrooms, including monthly lesson plans, TRS and TSR requirements, supplies, scheduling, and meetings. Promotes positive image of the school within the community and on social media. Establishes strong working relationships with other state licensing authorities, local, and county health departments, and other regulatory agencies. Provides administrative support to Kids in Action administration, teachers, and families.
Ensures school compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Problem solving skills
Implements health and safety standards, ensures that appropriate supervision of children.
Written and oral communication skills
Work as a team with other coworkers
Scheduling for all Early Education and Pre-School teachers
- Find substitutes as needed, or fill in as substitute teacher if needed
Posting teacher ads and hiring of new teachers
With assistance from the Assistant Director, implementing Performance Improvement Plans, including follow-up
As needed, meeting with employees for handbook violations, including instituting probation, suspension, and termination.
Maintaining allergy rosters and emergency forms, including postings of allergies.
Answering walkie code calls on daily basis.
Transport after-schoolers/campers when short-staffed
Delegation
Special projects or other duties as assigned.
Technology
Develops and actively maintains positive communication with parents.
Recognizes parent concerns, evaluates course of action and responds appropriately to the needs of parents. Communicates parent concerns to the appropriate leaders and owner.
Responsible for keeping un-enrolled children to a minimum; determines reasons for loss enrollment and addresses problem areas contributing to loss enrollment.
Financial Responsibilities
Weekly Tuition and follow-up
Ensures that computer-related record keeping requirements are met, to include tracking monetary transactions with customers and vendors.
Maintains appropriate receipts on all credit card and bank transactions in a timely manner.
Ensures that accounts receivable are closely monitored, and office administrators following up on delinquent accounts in timely manner
Ensures that program supplies and equipment are inventoried and appropriately maintained.
Closely monitor overtime hours.
Human Resources
Assists Administration with recruiting, selecting, and properly training qualified staff. Fully onboarding all new hires.
Anticipates staffing needs, prepares and posts weekly staffing schedule (or as changes are made) and modifies it according to daily student counts in each classroom. Ensures that state and local regulations are met at all times.
Counsels staff regarding performance issues via personnel policies and the employee binder for corrective action.
Evaluates direct reports on a 30, 60, 90, and yearly basis with a written performance review, and at other times as needed: recommends merit raises for staff within school guidelines.
Marketing
Become familiar with Intellikids CRM (will train)
- Inputting all leads
Pass along communication of new leads to Enrollment Specialist. In absence of Enrollment Specialist, gives prospective customers tours of the program and detailed information about the programs educational philosophy and classroom teachers.
Help plan and assist in all special events, including a few weekend events.
Physical Facility
Maintains school, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe environment that meets Kids in Action and licensing safety standards.
Maintains a clean, safe, and healthy environment through scheduled cleaning and frequent safety checks.
Coordinates equipment and facility repairs; ensures timely completion of repairs to minimize any risk of injury to others.
Oversees the daily checklists
Educational program
Ensure that curriculum is appropriately implemented throughout the program and meets state requirements for each age group.
Ensure that the staff is effectively trained on curriculum and established early childhood principles.
Responsible for weekly Frogstreet and/or Circe time lesson plans and follow-up.
Assist all teachers in acquiring CDA certification
Up-to-date on all TRS and TSR requirements for AFTER-SCHOOL and PRE-SCHOOL (will train)
Observes each classroom weekly
Reviews and provides input to all childcare calendars
Coordinate and run monthly departmental meetings and present/run staff meetings
Physical Responsibility
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Meet or exceeds all TRS training requirements
Participate in assigned leadership program and webinars
Maintain Director certification
Curriculum trainings
Enrollment Boot Camp within first 90 days
Weekly training calls with the Childcare Success Academy
Some travel will be required both in and out of state
Reporting Relationships
The Director will report to the Owner of the School.
The Director of the school will oversee direct reports including: front office, administrative positions, lead teachers and assistant teachers.
Qualifications
The Director must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for Director, including age, education, and experience.
At least 2 years experience as an Assistant Director or Director is required.
A Bachelor Degree is preferred.
A Directors certification is required.
CDA may be required.
