- Represent
clients in civil litigation matters related to insurance defense. - Handle a
caseload of insurance-related disputes, including personal injury claims,
property damage, and liability issues. - Conduct legal
research, draft pleadings, and prepare legal documents. - Attend court
hearings, depositions, and mediations. - Legal Strategy:
- Develop
effective legal strategies to protect clients' interests. - Evaluate
cases, assess liability, and recommend settlement or trial options. - Collaborate
with clients, insurance companies, and other parties involved in the
litigation process. - Client
Advocacy: - Advocate for
clients in negotiations, settlements, and court proceedings. - Provide legal
advice and guidance to clients throughout the litigation process. - Maintain
strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction. - Risk
Assessment: - Analyze
insurance policies, coverage issues, and potential risks. - Assess the
strength of claims against insured parties. - Identify
potential areas of exposure and recommend risk mitigation strategies. - Legal Research
and Writing: - Conduct legal
research on relevant statutes, case law, and regulations. - Draft legal
memoranda, motions, and briefs. - Prepare
discovery requests and responses. - Collaboration:
- Work closely
with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. - Collaborate
with insurance adjusters, experts, and witnesses. - Attend team
meetings and case reviews. - Production
Requirements - Ranges from
1,800 to 2,100 hours annually (dependent on experience) - Juris Doctor
(J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. - Admission to
the New York and New Jersey State Bars in good standing. - FIVE (5) years of
experience in civil litigation, preferably in insurance defense. - Strong
analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. - Ability to
manage multiple cases simultaneously. - Knowledge of
insurance law, torts, and civil procedure. - Firm provides 80% coverage of medical, dental and vision benefit costs
