- Manage and guarantee weekly disbursements of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes to employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws
- Determines payroll liabilities by entering tax information, 401k transfer and direct deposits, wage assignments and garnishments. Remits tax payment by collecting and verifying data; prepares reports and statements; initiating payment.
- Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including: weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
- Experience reconciling and preparing all related tax forms and reports.
- Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner
- Coordinate the payroll activities of accounting staff
- Prepare payroll account reconciliations
- Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
- Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
- Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production
- Communicate actively with Project Management, HR and Accounts Payable to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing
- Experience reconciling and preparing all related tax forms and reports.
- Ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation time in line with contracts (union and non-union)
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
