Under the direction of the Dean for Transitional Studies ("Dean"), the Director will perform a wide scope of complex duties and responsibilities and will be responsible for the daily operations and administrative detail of the department. The Director will supervise, direct, and advise on activities involved in Transitional Studies program management. The Director will advise and assist the Dean on matters pertaining to the Transitional Studies Division with an emphasis in achieving the goals and objectives of the program. This position reports to the Dean for Transitional Studies.

Primary Responsibilities

• In collaboration with the Dean for Transitional Studies, coordinate, plan, and facilitate the implementation of Basic Education for Adults (BEdA) initiatives in alignment with Columbia Basin College's mission, core themes, and vision; Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title II; State Board of Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) guidelines;
• Lead grant proposal and compliance with BEdA grants: BEdA Master, Leadership Block, Integrated and Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE), and others;
• In coordination with Dean for Transitional Studies monitor and provide data on enrollment, market and help implement planning to meet external and internal enrollment targets;
• Facilitate the development of I-BEST pathways appropriate to the College's students and Guided Pathway Schools;
• Manage growth of HS+ program; serve as primary point of contact for students and community inquiries, oversee and guide students through the intake process, liaise with other campus departments such as credential evaluators, ensure accurate coding is applied to WABERS, develop and implement plan for outreach and referrals;
• In coordination with Dean for Transitional Studies monitor the Open Doors and High School Academy programs with local school districts.
• In collaboration with the Dean for Transitional Studies, serve as a College liaison with SBCTC and Council for Basic Skills;
• Work to advance and achieve diversity initiatives as established by the College;
• In collaboration with the Dean for Transitional Studies coordinate and manage all off-site programs for Transitional Studies;
• Assist the Dean in the planning of daily operations of the Transitional Studies Division Office;
• Assist and participate in the planning, development, compliance and implementation of the Transitional Studies programs, services, projects, policies and procedures;
• Establish, communicate effectively, develop and maintain relationships with administrators, staff, outside agencies and the public to exchange information and/or resolve program issues or concerns;
• Prepare, evaluate and monitor all Transitional Studies program support services and activities as requested by Dean;
• Assist in fiscal development, analysis, and ongoing oversight of budgets within the Transitional Studies department;
• Keep the Dean informed on budget manners; and analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action;
• Hold signature authority in absence of Dean for approved routine operational activities and/or other business matters; and
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an institutionally accredited college or university; and
• Experience in designing, managing or implementing Transitional Studies programs or similar State or Federal projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Education, Education Administration, Educational Guidance and Counseling or Public Administration from an institutionally accredited college or university.
