These shares are an additional retirement benefit that will continue to grow during your time at Challenge.We are looking for an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist to join our team This individual will support our plant in our Pontiac, MI location, and report directly to the EHS Director.
They will bring a passion for EHS and a collaborative and solution focused mindset.They will also have an in-depth understanding of OSHA and EPA regulation as it relates to stamping and welding operations.
This person will thrive in a growing EHS team and must be able to work independently with remote support.EHS policies and procedures, OSHA and State-run OSHA programs, EPA, DEQ regulations, and customer EHS requirements
Work closely with operators, leads, and plant management to ensure EHS compliance and drive EHS results
Implement EHS programs and initiatives
Be an active participant in the full EHS team across 12 plants to develop EHS programs and initiatives
Minimum 5 years EHS experience
Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, or related field strongly preferred
Experience in automotive or heavy manufacturing a strong plus
A self-starter and has initiative for positive risk reduction measures
Team player that collaborates well with the plant personnel and greater EHS team
