    Overview

    This position supports the Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering, primarily responsible for performing the daily duties of managing the Azure environment, configuration tuning, troubleshooting and ensuring the health our all cloud environments.

    The Senior Cloud engineer will join a dedicated discipline team of diverse staff at our Evanston office. They will work with other IT staff, including IT Security and Technology Operations, assorted project delivery staff, and a team in our India and US offices.

    You Will Have

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    • 5+ years of experience and deep working knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
    • 4+ years of experience managing production Windows environments.
    • 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools and concepts (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Artifactory, etc.)
    • 3+ years of experience and deep working knowledge with Terraform on Azure including experience writing Terraform Modules.
    • Build and update Azure Network entities and Azure Application/server & cost management.
    • Experience with Azure networking and security concepts, methods, and technologies in production Azure environments.
    • Strong working knowledge of container based infrastructure on Azure (e.g. Container Apps, Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, etc.)
    • Develop Infrastructure as code (Iac) leveraging cloud native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deployments.
    • Experience and understanding of security requirements for cloud like Azure AD, IAM, Okta, Web Application Firewalls, Data protection.
    • Cloud & OS performance tuning and advanced troubleshooting skills
    • Practical networking skills/ knowledge
    • ITIL foundation certification is a plus
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills

    You Will Be Responsible For

    • Create functional design specifications, Azure reference architectures, and assist with other project deliverables as needed.
    • Deploying, configuring, integrating and managing private and public cloud platforms (MS Azure cloud platforms)
    • Work with Solution Architect and Project management to design, develop and implement infrastructure components, server topology, capacity planning, information security and server hardening
    • Performing the daily duties of Azure deployments, configuration tuning, troubleshooting, scripting, cost analysis and maintenance
    • Able to troubleshoot routing and firewall issues (NSGs, UDRs, LBs, AppGW, etc)
    • Ability to mentor Architects and engineering staff.
    • Varying degrees of responsibility for work processes, optimization methods and risk management in large and complex projects
    • Conduct network performance monitoring to ensure that SLAs and other quality metrics are being met
    • Interacting with vendors and their support teams in critical cloud problem situations. Work with cross project teams to resolve technical performance issues/bottlenecks (e.g., network, storage, database, application).
    • Keeping up to date with new technology and certifications via training and seminars
    • Ensuring the quality and consistency of operating systems by following a defined set of procedures (change control, security procedures, user passwords, backups, hardware configuration.)

    • You will be responsible for helping to train new staff, mentor and collaborate with your teammates as required. You are expected to develop and revise procedures for the department and identify continuous improvement opportunities to increase efficiency.
