    Description

    This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist, has acquired advanced skills in pharmacy and has mastered all assigned tasks and categories of work in multiple areas and functions demonstrating the utmost competency and ability to lead. Will facilitate and participate in the training of pharmacy technician apprentices, dispensing, preparation and/or specialist pharmacy technicians. May also teach Pharmacists Technical skills within the scope of practice limitations for an Alaska Board of Pharmacy Licensed Pharmacy Tech.

    Position Available:

    Full Time

    Monday - Friday

    *40 hours per week

    8 hour shifts with occasional coverage outside of schedule as needed



    Responsibilities



    1. Ensures seamless orientation of new and/or transferring pharmacy staff with oversight and influence of the orientation experience. Supports and develops staff including preceptors, apprentices, and experienced pharmacy technicians. Supports an environment and infrastructure that promotes professional growth and advanced skills.

    2. Develops and implements strategic workforce learning and development services to support the achievement of workforce goals, quality initiatives and pharmacy practice. Critically assesses plans, develops and delivers pharmacy curriculum, developmental programs and services. Facilitates learning utilizing multiple modalities.

    3. Evaluates staff competency in coordination with pharmacy leadership. Provides specific, ongoing and timely feedback to employees. Holds staff and colleagues accountable for their performance

    4. Acts as a resource for automated dispensing systems and may provide training to pharmacy staff, physicians, nursing staff and students; will work with pharmacist to ensure compliance with all sterile product policies and regulations

    5. Leads and participates on assigned committees and teams. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership.

    6. Acts as a role model of clinical practice. Establishes visibility and credibility. Leads and participates on assigned committees and teams. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership.

    7. Performs routine duties in packaging, distribution and record keeping of pharmaceutical supplies as a function of 1:1 training

    8. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

    Qualifications




    • Requires pharmacy technician licensure in the state of practice.

    • Pharmacy technician certification required.

    • Must demonstrate three (3) or more years of experience performing in a pharmacy technician role.

    • Must be able to communicate effectively, in both oral and written formats.

    • Excellent presentation, facilitation and computer technology skills, strong organization and communication skills and the ability to take initiative, solve problems and improve processes.

    • Must be able to utilize computer programs for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes.

    Preferred Qualifications


    • Four (4) or more years in a position with primary responsibility for design and delivery of learning programs for adult learners.

    • Bachelor's Degree in Education.

    • Previous leadership experience.

    • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
