    Description

    Overview

    STONE Resource Group is collaborating with a top organization in the Finance Industry to recruit a Senior System Engineer. This is a Direct Hire position with a blend of remote and onsite work based in Atlanta, GA delivering leadership responsibilities and exposure to cutting-edge technology.

    Candidates will need to be physically present in the Atlanta office 3-4 days a week for this role. Full remote work is not an option.

    Project Overview/Impact on the Organization

    The Senior System Engineer will have a critical role in managing high-performance server solutions and automation tools, influencing the operational efficiency and technological progress of the company.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Design, execute, and enhance server solutions
    • Create automation scripts and tools
    • Assess and integrate new technologies
    • Offer technical support and guidance
    • Optimize and structure systems infrastructure
    • Automate manual tasks through scripting and application development
    • Handle and support production operations in a 24/7 setting
    • Assess, test, and integrate new versions of operating systems, drivers, and patches
    • Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours assistance

    Must-Have Skillsets

    • Proficiency in Linux and Windows systems
    • Scripting knowledge in Python or PowerShell
    • Experience in automation implementation
    • Strong understanding of Active Directory
    • Proficient in Puppet usage
    • 5-10+ years of experience with Linux or Windows Server
    • Coding abilities in languages like Python, Ruby, PowerShell, etc.
    • Knowledge of automation/configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible
    • Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools
    • Expertise in multi-tiered application design
    • Customer-centric approach

    Nice to Have Skillsets

    • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
    • Understanding of virtualization (Docker, Kubernetes)
    • Skills in network analysis (tcpdump, wireshark)
