    Job Summary

    The Sr Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for conducting independent analysis and data development, overseeing junior staff, and handling various financial and actuarial functions such as financial planning, trend analysis, product development, provider reimbursement analysis, fee schedule development, and medical cost containment analysis. This role involves working closely with multiple departments including underwriting, sales, contracting, finance, and clinical services.

    An in-depth knowledge of the health insurance industry, proficiency in databases, Excel, statistical modeling, and strong interpersonal skills are essential for this position.

    Key Responsibilities/Duties - what you will be doing
    • Conducting analytic project work under minimal supervision
    • Developing project plans to achieve objectives
    • Collaborating with managers on defining project goals
    • Using data systems and tools to complete projects
    • Designing technical processes to address business issues
    • Assisting junior staff with program code
    • Validating results and providing explanations
    • Interpreting results in a business context
    • Identifying and addressing new questions or data complexities
    • Integrating information from various sources
    • Handling additional projects and tasks as assigned
    Qualifications - what you need to perform the job
    Education, Certification and Licensure
    • College degree in a related field or equivalent
    • Actuarial exam progress
    • Preference for ASA or FSA designation
    Experience (minimum years required):
    • 5+ years of healthcare actuarial/analytic experience
    • Management experience in mentoring/training
    • Demonstrated analytic project design experience
    • Proficiency in technical tools and applications

    • Facilitation of planning and review sessions
    • Leadership and negotiation skills
    • Ability to operate in a matrix environment

    Working Conditions and Additional Requirements:
