Location: Holy Cross Health has two hospitals and four healthcare centers all a short driving distance from Washington DC and Baltimore, MD

Responsibilities:

Serve as a patient advocate on billing issues by assisting patients in finding the best way to finance their healthcare. Implement the financial assistance policy accurately and fairly to steward the hospital's community benefit resources.
Provide guidance on completing HCH financial assistance applications. Review applications for completeness, request additional documentation when needed, and follow up with patients on pending items.
Address patient billing concerns through phone, correspondence, or in-person interactions. Investigate and resolve issues efficiently and professionally.
Process credit card payments for hospital departments and ensure accurate recording of transactions following accounting procedures.
Interpret clinical data to determine program eligibility, possess strong auditing and analytical skills for account reconciliation, and work with computer reports and spreadsheets.

What You Will Need:

High school graduate with three (3) years of experience in accounting and medical claims management, ideally in a hospital or physician's office setting.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Understanding of basic medical terminology, Medicaid, Medicare, and other healthcare assistance programs for the uninsured.
Proficient in Windows, Word & Excel, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
