*SCOPE OF POSITION
The Nurse Intern I will function as an integral part of the patient care team.
Provides direct patient care and support services to the nursing unit under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and does not perform any task that requires a nursing license.
Able to care for patients with varying levels of illness under the direction of a RN.Routine responsibilities include providing bedside care to patient, performing routine nursing procedures, transporting patients, stocking supplies and maintaining equipment, routine housekeeping duties as needed and documentation of care and procedures performed.
The Nurse Intern I will perform blood sugar assessment, and/or EKGs as required in role with competency documentation.Remaining in the role is contingent on continuous enrollment in a RN degree or LPN diploma program with progression toward completion of an RN degree or LPN diploma.

*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have completed the fundamentals in nursing course successfully in either an Associate or Baccalaureate registered nurse degree or practical nurse diploma accredited Nursing Program, and maintain an active status in the nursing program with progression toward program completion or must be waiting to sit for Boards or waiting for results of Boards.
Must have, and maintain, a minimum of 2.5 GPA.AHA BLS Required
