    Job DescriptionThis position plays a critical role in providing the Operations LT, BU Finance Controller and Group reporting team with timely financial reporting, information and analysis by operating as a business partner to Operations leadership.

    A key element of this role is to drive various reporting cycles (i.e. month end, budgets and forecasts) and related decision making support through building relationships and promoting close links with Group and regional finance leadership.

    A key aspect of the role is ensuring that the BU President of Finance and Financial Controller have the information and analysis that they require, including both routine reports and ad-hoc analysis.

    ResponsibilitiesPreparation of the monthly management accounts including variance analysis and commentary on resultsPreparation of budget/forecast reporting including variance analysis and commentary on resultsConsolidation of the flash reportLiaise with Group regarding System administration, maintenance and continual improvement of the Group financial consolidation system which has circa 300 users worldwide, supporting the regional finance teamsResponsible for managing direct reportsPreparation and review of data to support investor presentations and roadshowsKey point of contact for analysis as required by Tax, Treasury, Investor relations and Mergers and Acquisitions teamsOther ad hoc project work as directed by the Financial ControllerDrive continuous improvement in Financial reportingProviding or facilitating guidance on complex accounting areas across the Operations BUAssist with preparation and close-out of the Group year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors, if necessaryPrepare reporting calendar and drive deadlinesQualificationsQualifications:Degree qualifiedProfessional postgraduate accounting qualification preferred but not requiredKnowledge, skills and experience:A thorough understanding of Group policies and good knowledge of IFRS.Significant experience (5 years +) in a reporting or other key finance role within a complex global organizationAbility to influence and challenge current thinking at the highest levels through clear, informed and logical argument and discussionAbility to manage a developing team, with proven people management skillsHigh levels of cultural awareness, sensitivity and discretionGroup & BU financial performance and how it can deliver and add value to its customersCorporate governance and decision makingAchieved challenging performance targetsCoordinating complex annual and long-term budgets and forecastingDemonstrated a commitment to continuous learning and developmentDemonstrated technical excellenceLed and embedded changePersonal attributes:Connect and establish effective, cross-cultural working relationships with all levels of the organization and externallyEnergy and compassionBalance humility and self confidenceBe forward thinking and able to see the 'big picture'Work on own initiativeAbility to:Communicate well with a diverse audienceWork effectively across different cultures, driving a global mind-setContribute to a climate that delivers on expectations and strengthens relationshipsPrioritize requests from multiple sourcesAbout UsWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
