JOB SUMMARY:
Performs cleaning and maintenance of public buildings, structures, and grounds.
Ensures compliance with safety standards involving such public buildings, structures, and grounds for the benefit of county employees and the public.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
(The following are illustrative of essential functions to perform duties and responsibilities of the job. The position may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional tasks as needed by the Department. Reasonable accommodations, as defined under the American with Disabilities Act, will be made when possible.)Sweeps, mops, scrubs, vacuums, buffs, and dusts hallways, stairs and office space on a daily basis.
Places hazard signs to warn public of possible slick floors.
Dusts, cleans or polishes chairs, tables, shelves, and other brass, metal, or woodwork including furniture or equipment.
Washes windows, walls, woodwork, and blindsDaily cleans and sanitizes bathrooms; replaces toilet paper and paper towelsCollects and disposes of refuse.
Notifies Supervisor concerning needs for major repairs to lighting, heating and ventilating equipment. Replaces light bulbsReplaces air conditioner filters and monitors the performance of heating/air conditioning systems as needed. Cleans sidewalks and outside area of debris or snow and ice as needed.May be called in after or before hours to make sure roadways and walkways are clear for staff and the public.
Mows lawns, trims shrubbery, cultivates flowers, and operates small equipment as needed. Assists in maintenance of lawn and garden tools and equipment including changing oil, filters, lubrication and cleaning as needed. Performs minor and routine building maintenance and repairs.Assist in moving furniture and assists Departments with setup of equipment and furniture as needed.
Assists with painting all county owned facilities. May be called in emergency situations for maintenance and repairs.
Follows all safety rules and addresses any safety concerns before starting project. Ability to work schedule as set by supervisorAbility to work with a team or independently as neededAbility to follow policies and procedures of the County and DHSAbility to communicate (verbally & in writing) in EnglishAbility to meet the physical requirements listed below
