- Complete assigned responsibilities as part of monthly, quarterly and year end accounting close.
- Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet General Ledger accounts, including researching outages and using judgement to resolve.
- Prepare journal entries and analyze variances using professional acumen.
- Prepare and file bank regulatory reports, such as FR2900 and FR2644.
- Act as the subject matter expert on accounting topics, such as prepaids, fixed assets, personal property tax, real estate tax, sales/use tax, lease accounting, and perform accounting tasks related to these items.
- Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with Travel & Expense (T&E) policies and procedures.
- Prepare management reporting. such as Regulation O and tracking fringe benefits for executives.
- Provide analytical research and support for other functions within the Finance department.
- Utilize accounting software effectively and identify efficient ways to leverage software to complete tasks.
- Collaborate with management in researching, reviewing, and implementing internal policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Gather and review audit documentation, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Interact with internal and external clients while providing extraordinary service.
- Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
- Represent the Bank and Accounting team in a highly professional manner.
- Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work.
- Maintain confidentiality; adhere to CrossFirst Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Reliable and predictable attendance; both on-site and remote work.
- Two or more years as a successful accountant, public accounting or banking experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience with effective planning and priority setting; ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Proficient technical skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Solid understanding of finance, accounting, information systems and related disciplines.
- Experience with PeopleSoft and/or Certify is preferred.
