    Job Description

    Position Summary

    The Plant Operator is responsible for operating sewage, FOG, and sludge waste processing equipment in a plant to produce quality water in compliance with regulations. This role offers a chance to be part of a facility that transforms waste liquids into usable resources for the community and customers.

    Prior experience is a plus, but we provide training.

    Location: Durham, NC

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Monitors and adjusts plant operations as necessary.
    • Reports operating variations to the supervisor.
    • Operates equipment for waste processing.
    • Maintains a plant log and conducts tests.
    • Ensures equipment functions properly and performs maintenance tasks.
    • Calibrates and documents instrumentation.
    • Tracks and documents process parameters and testing results.
    • Assists in truck operations and performs necessary sampling and testing.
    • Reports meter readings and test results for process control.
    • Ensures equipment functions properly and performs minor repairs if needed.

    Work Environment

    • Exposed to weather conditions and noise.
    • Must work comfortably independently.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability to read and interpret documents.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
    • Basic computer and math skills.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
    • Prior experience in transportation industry.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Attention to detail and integrity.
    • Drug-free workplace commitment.
    • Ability to meet physical demands.
