    Systems Engineer (NOT IT RELATED)

    Troll is currently seeking a SYSTEMS ENGINEER to provide support to our customers and Program Management. You are responsible for determining system specifications, processes and working parameters of systems. Coordinate and make recommendations regarding performance, hardware/software and general design to engineering team and customers. This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Candidates must be self-sufficient and self-motivated, able to work and complete daily tasks with minimal supervision.

    The ideal candidate possess a BCSC/BSEE/BSME and 10 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or Electronics/Test Technician in broadcast or satellite engineering field.

    Specific experience in an electronics manufacturing enviorment is preferred.

    RESPONSIBILITIES and EXPECTATIONS

    In the first 30 days, a successful candidate will have :


    • Proven to be knowledgeable in using electronic test equipment including an oscilloscope, DMM, and Spectrum Analyzer.
    • Shown electronic circuit and mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills along with an ability to read electronic schematics and mechanical assembly drawings.
    • Begun assisting program management with special assignments and engineering tasks in developing, prototyping, testing, and producing custom systems for specific project needs.
    • Responsibility for creation and maintenance of the PDD (Product Definition Document).
    • Responsibility for technical portion of the ECO (Engineering Change Order).
    In the first three months, a successful candidate will have:


    • Begun assisting in the design of subsystems and integration of total systems by incorporating technologies from multiple disciplines including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electromagnetics, digital signal processing, and software engineering.
    • Ability to determine system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for electrical, hardware, and software systems as required by the customer; exploring alternative configurations and presenting them to customers.
    • Responsibility for CAD drawings for cable assemblies and system diagrams.
    • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and test systems for compliance to customer specifications.
    In the first six to twelve months, a successful candidate will have:


    • Consistently recommended design changes to improve overall system performance as applicable.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies, and provided recommendations for corrective actions.
    • Continually worked to resolve issues rapidly during the implementation process and after final delivery and customer acceptance.
    • Developed and executed customer and factory acceptance test plans; prepared records, charts, graphs, and other statistical information to document the test process and provide feedback.
    Must have a strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, CAD programs, and ERP system.

    Must be a U.S.

    citizen for authorized access to controlled technology/data as subject to ITAR as well as possess both a valid driver's license and passport.

    This position reports to the VP of Systems Engineering. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Position location is in Valencia, CA. Relocation is not available for this position.
