    Echo Lake Country Club, located in Westfield, New Jersey, just thirty miles from New York City, is an esteemed 18-hole member-owned club with a rich history dating back to 1899. The Club's golf course was designed by Donald Ross in 1913. Echo Lake Country Club was formed through the merger of the Cranford Golf Club and the Westfield Golf Club, and it boasts a family-oriented atmosphere, championship golf course, pool, and paddle program. A recent $12-million renovation has transformed the 30,000 square-foot Clubhouse into a vibrant hub, offering three bars, banquet facilities, multi-level dining, expansive patios, and breathtaking Manhattan Skyline views. In 2021, Echo Lake's Clubhouse was honored with the "Clubhouse Renovation of the Year" award from Club Inc. Magazine. The Club maintains a substantial waitlist for membership and boasts a long-term employment history.

    Position Overview:

    Responsible for the management of dining room service in the manor most pleasing to Members and their guests. Assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of dining room. Supervise and train dining room staff; manage within budgetary restraints; develop and implement programs to increase revenue.

    Responsibilities:

    • Schedule staff and plan dining room set-up based upon anticipated Member/guest counts and client needs.
    • Takes reservations and check table reservation schedules.
    • Greet and seat Members/guests.
    • Carefully supervise dining room staff to help assures proper service; takes orders when needed.
    • Inspect dining room staff to ensure they are always in proper and clean uniforms.
    • Train, supervise, and evaluate dining room staff.
    • Provide appropriate reports concerning employee hours, schedules, pay rates, job changes, etc.
    • Receive and resolve complaints concerning food, beverages, and service.
    • Direct pre-meal meetings with dining room staff. Relay pertinent info regarding service, policy changes, new products etc.
    • Assure that the dining room and other Club areas are secure at the end of the night.
    • Resolve all POS related issues, i.e., voids, comps, open checks, transfers etc.
    • Attend scheduled staff meetings

    Long-Term Objectives:

    • Develop and cultivate deep relationships with Members.
    • Undergo regular training to ensure standards and expectations are up to date.
    • Build a strong dining room team to be ready to provide gracious hospitality anytime of the day.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • 3-5 years of management experience in a similar role or relevant experience.
    • 5-7 years of progressive experience in Food and Beverage or a related field.
    • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
    • Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
