    Do you want to use your hard-earned skills and drive to make a difference in the lives of patients? This candidate will join the growing Discovery Proteomic Platforms (DPP) group within the Discovery Technologies and Molecular Pharmacology (DTMP) department of Therapeutics Discovery to apply groundbreaking approaches to proteomic and immunopeptidomic analysis.

    Lead a motivated team dedicated to deploying groundbreaking mass spectrometry proteomics technologies to optimize biologic therapeutics and identify translatable biomarkers from the lab to the clinic.

    Support the identification and development of small and large molecule therapeutics for diseases within Oncology, Immunology, and Neuroscience. Work in an exciting, interdisciplinary environment, overlapping the different stages of the discovery pipeline. With your help, we will drive development of medicines for our patients


    Primary responsibilities:

    • Manage a team of wet lab scientists enabling proteomic insights across a wide variety of programs and therapeutic modalities.
    • Plan, oversee and perform wet lab proteomic activities for immunogenicity assessment, therapeutic optimization, and biomarker discovery.
    • Design and apply high efficiency automation centric proteomics sample preparation methodologies across many experiment types (global proteomic profiling, immunoprecipitation, affinity, PTM analysis).
    • Collaborate with bioinformatics, biologics discovery, chemistry, and safety to drive experiments across the drug discovery portfolio.
    • Demonstrate creativity and apply novel approaches to solving scientific problems. Propose novel and practical ideas, aligned with scientific strategies and demands.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • A Doctorate or Master's Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Immunology, or a related field is required

    Required:

    • A minimum 8 years experience in a laboratory setting
    • Experience with liquid chromatography (Waters nanoAcquity or Thermo EASY-nLC or UltiMate 3000) and mass spectrometry (Thermo QE, Exploris, Eclipse, Lumos or Bruker timsTOF) instrumentation
    • Experience processing and analyzing large scale global proteomic datasets
    • Strong team, process, and project coordination with the ability to handle several projects at a time
    • Excellent interpersonal skills working with diverse colleagues

    Preferred:

    • 4 years experience in a drug discovery environment
    • Experience planning and performing immunopeptidomic/proteogenomic (MHC class I or 2) experiments
    • Proficiency with lab liquid handling automation (Beckman Biomek, Hamilton Microlab STAR, TECAN Fluent, or Dynamic Devices Lynx)
    • Experience leading a team of scientists
