    Tax Free Stipend:

    Hours: 36 hours per week

    Shift: 12 hr - Nights

    *Position Requirements
    • Current CO or compact nursing license in good standing with the State licensing board
    • Minimum of 2 years RN recent experience
    • American Heart BLS and ACLS Certification

    *Position Summary*The nature of the direction and supervision required for this position varies by State and job setting.

    In addition to basic nursing care, responsibilities of a Med Surg RN include (but are not limited to):


    • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
    • Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients.
    • Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications.
    • Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
    • Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements.
    • Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.
    • Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
    • Answering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
    • Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records.
    • Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.
    • Must be willing to FLOAT to all med/surg units, including observation.
    *Other Responsibilities
    • Completes required orientation as directed by facility
    • Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
    • Follows facility and Hamilton Unusual Occurrence Protocol
    • Respects cultural and religious practices of patients
    • Upholds HIPAA regulations
    • Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts
