    Mobility Aide - Oncology Special Care (Evenings)


    Position Highlights:
    Werner Cancer Hospital Specialty Care Unit, or


    WSCU:

    This 36-bed unit in the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center serves adult oncology patients who are receiving chemotherapy or high-dose chemotherapy, with or without bone marrow or stem cell transplant and undergoing complex medication and blood product administration.


    Shift Details:
    Full- Time, Evenings 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm


    Perform basic patient care functions that assist with individualized patient mobility activities as directed by licensed nurse, physical therapist, and/or occupational therapist personnel.


    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
    • High school education or equivalent required.
    • Completion of certified nursing assistant program or restorative program or experience in direct patient care required.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior experience in a hospital setting preferred.
    • Proficient knowledge of use of patient care equipment/supplies preferred.
    • Appropriate knowledge of good body mechanics preferred.
    • Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
    • Ability to work at a fast pace preferred.
    • Ability to communicate effectively preferred.
    • Ability to work in a team environment preferred.
    • Ability to manage and interact with patients and families of all age groups preferred.
    • Ability to deal with difficult or challenging customer interactions and escalate to management as appropriate preferred.
