    Location: Boulder/Louisville/Denver, CO (in-office Tue-Thu with option for remote work Mon & Fri)

    Role Overview:

    Perfect opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader to continue to grow a Programmatic Media business unit into a robust profit engine for a medium-size (approximately 150 employees) rapidly growing global digital marketing consultancy. This role requires an expert grasp of Programmatic platforms in executing audience-first full funnel multi-million dollar campaigns for global clients.

    In this role, you will oversee the strategic development and execution of innovative Programmatic (display, video, audio, native, CTV, DOOH, etc.) campaigns across multiple DSPs such as Google DV360, Amazon DSP, and The Trade Desk. With support from the Programmatic team, you will be accountable for planning complex campaigns that deliver strong results and tangible value to our clients . This client-facing position owns the development and effective delivery of strategic client decks/presentations. You'll oversee all campaign activity and deliverables for the team's Media Traders, and facilitate the training and development of the team. You will work with DELVE's Leadership Team and Programmatic Team Leads on resourcing and staffing plans.

    The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of:

    • Building, inspiring, and coaching a team of Programmatic professionals in executing performance-focused campaigns with maximum operational efficiency
    • Leading the realization of commercial value through strong client management and the expansion of business unit Programmatic capabilities (ex: testing & scaling new platforms, thought leadership)
    • Driving profitable business growth by becoming a trusted advisor to senior-level clients and industry partners (agencies and technology companies).

    Role Expectations:

    • Project Margin Management: Achieve communicated Project Margin Targets for the Department. Lead Department forecasting (Client Net Revenue, People Cost, Department Project Margin) and decision making based on sound analysis of past and forecasted project margin as well as analysis of Productive Utilization.

    • CUSTOMER EDUCATION & THOUGHT LEADERSHIP: come across as a knowledgeable, confident, personable Subject Matter Expert beyond the exact scope of work performed, who has depth of expertise, a strong point of view, and also ability to listen and emphasize with the customer on the subject matter area in its entirety
    • HIGH PRIORITY: Building, inspiring, and coaching a team of Programmatic professionals in executing performance-focused campaigns with maximum profitability:

    Profitability & Operational Efficiency:

    • Elevate the quality and consistency of client engagement execution through setting team expectations (and implementing steps to achieve) best-in-class planning and process implementation, work product standards, and client communications
    • Set clear team member expectations and goals, measure team performance against expectations, and hold team members accountable for meeting expectations
    • Provide first-hand training (through example, templates, and/or packaged materials) or referrals to external trainings as needed to elevate team members skills sets and the quality of their work product
    • Engage and influence cross functional teams on large omnichannel programs (media planning, ad ops, paid search, paid social, analytics, data science, engineering) through mature and thoughtful leadership, providing the Programmatic POV within a larger complex scope of simultaneous workstreams
    • Actively manage P&L (top and bottom lines) and implement operational measures (org-, capability-, and business-related) to grow at scale in alignment with a scheduling system and target cost of delivery for every project

    Performance:

    • Lead team in developing and deploying tech-first strategies (e.g., LTV Bidding, Custom Bidding, Dynamic Creative, etc.) that leverage all available features of relevant ad platforms
    • Bring a strong POV on tech-based and data-backed approaches for achieving outsized results; staying on top of industry trends and current best practices keeping pace with Programmatic innovation
    • Provide a strong POV, backed by research and data, on creative & audience strategy as it relates to each client's business objectives and current market trends (industry, geography, and competition)
    • Be the authoritative voice on campaign-related performance through proactive descriptive (measurement), predictive (trend extrapolation), and prescriptive (strategy & recommendation) insights tailored for marketing client stakeholder consumption. Effectively communicate the 'WHY' behind performance changes, both positive and negative.
    • Multiply your powers by continuously elevating your teams' expertise and competence in delivering confidence-inducing campaign performance
    • Monitor your team's progress in client engagements, understanding when to step in to foster confidence and sell the business value of your team's work to executive-level stakeholders

    Role Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 8-10 combined years of working hands-on with Programmatic platforms
    • 8-10+ years of hands-on experience managing paid digital media, including at least 5+ years managing programmatic media in at least one of the following DSPs: Google DV360, Amazon DSP, and The Trade Desk
    • 5+ years leading the "client experience" (at least 2 years in agency setting) from strategy development, research, and campaign optimizations to weekly performance reviews/insights/recommendation, QBRs, and 1:1s with client leadership.
    • 5+ years leading a Programmatic team of 10+ specialists, account managers, and analysts in delivering high quality service for clients with monthly average 6-7 figure budgets
    • Exhibited mastery of performance measurement frameworks (full-funnel measurement, multi-touch attribution, A/B testing, time series studies, brand lift, etc.)
    • Expert ability to listen, understand, document, and unpack ambiguous business stakeholder objectives, then translating them into conceptual strategies/tactics followed by driving a team towards best-in-class planning and execution
    • Expert ability and comfort in creating and delivering executive-level presentations (using frameworks, visuals, conceptual diagrams, and captivating storytelling devices) in small and large audience settings
    • 5+ years inspiring, developing, and coaching people managers and multiplying your powers to maximize overall team performance down to the lowest levels of your org
    • Proven success in implementing a capacity planning/forecasting process that informs both future headcount requirements and profitability forecasts
    • Proven success implementing people management frameworks and consulting engagement delivery processes
    • Self-aware, self-motivated, and constantly striving for self improvement in all aspects of leadership, people management, and relationship building.
    • Experience leading a distributed global team spanning 8+ time zones a plus

    Technology & Industry Expertise

    • Experience with and/or expert knowledge of most of of the following (including Certifications where applicable): Google Analytics, Google Display and Video 360, Google Ads, Google Campaign Manager, LiveRamp, Amazon DSP, The Trade Desk
    • Expert knowledge of the programmatic landscape, including DSPs, DMPs, RTB, ad servers, data onboarding/connectivity platforms, tagging & bidding, cookie deprecation impacts
    • Strong experience in Excel, including pivot tables, chart-making, and manipulation of data sets
    • Passion for evangelism of everything Programmatic, evidenced by publicly available thought leadership and participation in industry events.
    • Strong POV on Programmatic place in conversion funnel and expert understanding of the relationship between Programmatic and other marketing channels, both digital and traditional/offline
    • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in the development of measurement frameworks for Programmatic campaigns
    • Strong POV on Programmatic creative strategies and demonstrated experience in executing research methodologies for creating strong POVs where none exist
    • Demonstrable expertise in at least 2 industries (e.g., travel, non-profit, insurance, mobile gaming, financial services, etc.)
    • Track record of proactive business unit platform expansion at existing or prior roles

    Salary range for this position is $140k-$180k, plus performance based bonus. We are also offering a $15k sign-on bonus for this role (to be paid 90 days after employment)
